The Municipality of Óbidos participated between the 5th and 7th of November in the Online Meeting RE-Connect part of the CELA Project (Connecting Emerging Literary Artists). This program, which is in its second edition, will run until 2023. Its aim is to increase the capacity of a new generation of literary creators to work on an international scale and for the European public. It allows for intensive transnational cooperation between writers, translators, and literary professionals at the beginning of their careers. The project provides a four-year course (2019-2023) with training, tools, and a network that aims to make an international career possible and establish an integrated professional practice.
This meeting aimed to deepen the sharing of knowledge and experiences among project participants (writers, translators, and literary professionals) with a program of workshops, group sessions, meetings, and a public presentation with the participation of the Óbidos author Patrícia Patriarca. A new image of the project and the new website (https://www.cela-europe.com) were also launched.
Óbidos was in charge of moderating one of the group sessions, being represented in this activity by the Project Manager, Carla Pinho. Communication’s director, David Vieira, also participated in the work meetings.
This meeting had more than 100 participants from other European countries: Portugal, Spain, Italy, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic, Serbia, Poland, and Romania.
