Readers of the Intermunicipal Network of Libraries of the West (RIBO) now have the Pressreader service, a digital platform that makes newspapers and magazines available online free of charge. This innovative service allows the reader access to more than 7,000 national and foreign publications.

The Pressreader service will be available in all municipal libraries in the Western Region of Portugal.

Those interested can access this digital platform through the App version for Android and iOS, or via the Web version (https://www.pressreader.com/catalog).

With the availability of the Pressreader service, local libraries intend to support measures to contain and combat the pandemic with better tools and promote among readers more universal and democratic access to reading and knowledge, in a sustainable, global, easy, and accessible, within the mission of public libraries.

Another objective is to promote a sustainable tourist activity, reinforcing the affirmation of Portugal as a unique, innovative, and competitive tourist destination.

RIBO includes the Libraries of the Municipalities of the Western Region of Portugal, namely Alcobaça, Alenquer, Arruda dos Vinhos, Bombarral, Cadaval, Caldas da Rainha, Lourinhã, Nazaré, Óbidos, Peniche, Sobral de Monte Agraço and Torres Vedras.
