Óbidos installed at Casa José Saramago the new Municipal Library. This space, which opened to the public on the 8th of July, is part of a new cultural and educational project, designed with people and their stories in mind.
The programming, based on four axes – sound, word, image, and object – intends to enable a direct exchange of knowledge and experiences, knowledge, and actions between all generations, in a direct relationship with the community.
It is in this building, located in the heart of the town, that the first Óbidos Story Centre is being built, a space that will tell, in different voices and in different formats, some of the histories of this territory.
On the 8th of July, the doors and windows of this new project opened, which values the commitment to the democratization of access to information and knowledge, through the promotion of experiences of sharing, participation, collaboration, and co-creation.
Casa José Saramago – Municipal Library of Óbidos, opens its doors from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with a maximum capacity of 25 people, due to the restrictions in force due to the Covid pandemic.
